Artistry in Motion is a pre-professional dance training program under the direction of Kimberly Corbett, offered to students ages 6 and up at the Harvard Academy of Dance.

Dancers that excel technically with the passion, dedication and desire to pursue serious dance training are selected through auditions and class evaluations. Intensive classes provide a foundation for these young dance artists, and various performance opportunities are offered.

The Artistry in Motion dancers qualified for the national competition at a Sophisticated Productions regional event held in Springfield. After many months of training, rehearsing and fundraising through bake sales and community performances, they attended the Sophisticated Productions National Championships in Wildwood, N.J., on July 20-26. The dancers took home numerous awards and medals, including Dancer of the Year, ages 7-8, $500 scholarship to (Ayer resident) Graycie Farnsworth; Dancer of the Year, ages 17-18, $500 scholarship, to (Devens resident) Asia Miller; Outstanding Choreography, ages 13 and up, to director Kimberly Corbett; and First-Place Overall High Score, ages 13 and up, Duo/Trio, making them the National Champions for 2014.
