Infant Storytime ~ Mother Goose on the Loose (no sign-up) - Ages 0 - 2 and up:

Summer schedule for the Infant Storytime is: Thursdays at 10:30 from July 10 through August 7

Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy program that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for reading. It incorporates music, movement, ritual, repetition, positive reinforcement, developmental tips, nursery rhymes, illustrations, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and book reading into a fun-filled 45 minute session for infants to 2-year-olds and caregivers (older siblings also welcome). Ask to be put on the email list for last minute schedule changes.

Children's Programs

Paws and Read: Wednesdays, July 23 and August 6 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM

Reading to Winston the Therapy Dog is a fantastic way to bolster a child's reading confidence! Pre-registration required ~ please call the Children's Room to make your own special appointment to read to Winston.

The Magic of Bonaparte - All Ages: Tuesday, July 22 at 3:00 PM

Bonaparte is "Boston's Hottest Magician"; his dazzling, interactive style of magic has captured the hearts and provoked the laughter of thousands of children and adults around the world. Children of all ages will be amazed and astounded as they witness objects mysteriously change places and change colors - right before their eyes! Items Impossibly Vanish and Reappear - visual magic at its best! Please pre-register - seats are limited.

Lego Club - Ages 5 and up: Wednesday, July 23 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM

Bring your own Lego bricks & have fun building Lego creations with other Harvard Lego fans! Please pre-register.

Family Movie Night! Movie is Rated PG - All Ages: Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 PM

We can't tell you the title of the movie here, but here is a clue: this recent animated film takes you back to the time of the dinosaurs. Popcorn and water will be served. Please pre-register, so we know how much popcorn to buy!

Super-Cold Science - Ages 5 and up: Wednesday, July 30 at 3:00 PM

Amazing things happen when matter changes temperature. With the help of a Museum educator from the Museum of Science and an intensely cold liquid, participants experience the remarkable changes in size, form, and behavior that occur when a variety of objects and substances are super-cooled. Please pre-register - seats are limited.

Wolf Talk - All Ages: Tuesday, August 5 at 3:00 PM

Michael LeBlanc of Wolf Talk returns to conduct a one hour live animal presentation in which he teaches the audience about wolf behavior in captivity and in the wild, eating habits of wolves, and wolf pack structure. In addition to the live wolf that Michael brings, he will have an educational visual display of furs, skulls and more; there will also be a question and answer session at the end of the program. Any wolves brought to program sites have been raised by Michael and Amy LeBlanc personally and Wolf Talk is state and federally licensed for education. Please pre-register - seats are limited.
