Dunstable Summer Concerts
Are you ready to party? Well, the summer concerts will begin June 18 and run through Aug. 6 and we think we've got a great line-up.
July 23: The Transistors (vehicle night)
July 30: The Kim Poesse Band, Country Western
Aug. 6: The Rampage Trio (Reza from Hoop About)
As usual, the Common Chefs will be on hand to cook up great hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage, and the concert committee will be selling ice cream. This year in case of rain the concert will be held the following night (Thursday).

Farmers Market open Fridays
The Groton Farmers Market at the Williams Barn will open for its 11th season on July 11. The market will be open every Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will continue through Oct. 10.
Again this year, the market will be held in the field behind the barn at 160 Chicopee Row in Groton, just 1.5 miles north of Main Street.
Vendors signed up for the 2014 Market include farmers with vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants, fruit, frozen meat and berries, as well as food products made or processed in the Groton area with local ingredients such as breads, baked goods, honey, eggs, maple syrup, jams and jellies.
This year, the market will again offer live music supported by the town of Groton Lecture Funds on most of the afternoons, with kick-off on Friday by Kenny Selcer.
The Farmers Market is supported by a grant from the Peter E. Bertozzi Trust from the town of Groton.

The Big 4 July 19
The BIG "4" is coming to the Christian Union Church on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring yard and bake sales, car wash, and new this year, LOBSTER ROLLS AND CHICKEN SALAD ROLLS, for eat-in or takeout, including chips and a dessert snack. Eat-in will also include a beverage. Price: Lobster $10 and chicken $8. The church is located at 37 West Main St. (Route 225) in West Groton. For information call 978 448-5480.
Forestry education hike July 27
Join a New England Forestry Foundation expert and members of the Groton Trails Committee on a guided educational hike of the Wharton Plantation in Groton on Sunday, July 27, at 1 p.m. sharp.
Owned by NEFF, this is a 100-year-old plantation of white pines, oaks and other tree species that is presently given to sustainable forestry uses.
Have you ever seen a recently-logged forest that looked "destroyed," with all the "trash" cuttings left lying on the ground? Does it look like they have just bulldozed Bambi?
Looks are deceiving. There is considerable science and planning that goes into forestry today, even if it doesn't appear that way from a casual look. If you want to learn what is really going on and why, then this hike is for you.
The days of Paul Bunyan chopping down every tree in sight are long gone. On this educational hike through the Wharton Plantation, we will introduce modern forestry concepts and show some of them by example. Learn some of the science of sustainable forestry, the planning, and how looks can be deceiving in what is good for the trees and wildlife.
The hike will be led by Chris Pryor, director of Forest Stewardship for NEFF.

Well adult clinic Aug. 14
