SHIRLEY -- Only two weeks to go before summer's biggest bash! St. Anthony's Parish Bazaar will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2.

For decades now, St. Anthony's has been the place to be on the first weekend of August. You might even say it is the community social event of the year!

This year the bazaar will kick off with the traditional lobster and clams beginning on Friday at 5 p.m. In true New England fashion, we will have corn-on-the-cob as a side dish along with great camaraderie and laughter. Come meet your friends and share in this tradition.

As always there will be plenty of other food available, including seafood chowder on Friday night and chili on Saturday night, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, chicken wings, French fries, as well as delectable homemade desserts.

On Saturday the culinary feast continues with chicken cooked over the grill, accompanied by coleslaw, macaroni salad and rolls.

Of course, the food is only the beginning of each evening. The fun continues with games for all ages.

The White Elephant tables will be set up in the Religious Education Center and will have separate room for glassware and kitchen, books, pictures and CDs, electrical, holidays, home décor and children's items.

There are incredible bargains to be had on both new and gently used items. Stop by and choose your bargain. You will not be disappointed.
