FITCHBURG -- Because of two significant donations, St. Bernard's High School has more than $100,000 in financial aid available for students.
The school received a $15,000 gift from the estate of Timothy Richards and the school's foundation made a $20,000 donation. "Both these donations are very generous and make available more dollars for incoming freshmen," said Jim Conry, headmaster for the school. Richards was founder/owner of Orchard Hills Athletic Club and the International Health and Racquet Sports Association. He was founder of the North Central Mass. Boys & Girls Club and a former trustee of the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.
According to Conry, scholarships are needs-based and families are encouraged to apply.
St. Bernard's was founded in 1920 and is a student-focused, college preparatory high school located in Fitchburg.
