As many know, Habitat for Humanity North Central Massachusetts has been in negotiation with the town of Ayer to build one or two new homes at 76 Central Ave. We are now anxious to get started on the formation of an official Ayer Habitat for Humanity Local Project Committee.
Following a successful ZBA meeting on May 14, and the appeal process, we anticipate receiving a permit in late June with immediate commencement of marketing for homebuyers. In the fall, we plan to begin construction on the homes.
It is essential that we have a strong committee to get the work done that is required to build Habitat for Humanity homes and I hope that you will consider coming to a meeting next Wednesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall in Ayer. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting to find out more about the mission of Habitat, how we raise funds, how we select families and how we build the homes with volunteers labor.
