TOWNSEND -- The community chorus group sponsored by the Council on Aging continues to meet on Mondays in Room B of the Meeting Hall. Voices of all sorts come together to sing, learn and share.

Director Alice Struthers, pianist Janet Alford and Jane Jackson, company manager, welcome everyone -- age is not important nor is musical experience. If you think you can't sing or read music, come anyway -- you'll have fun, meet a lot of nice people and we promise you'll learn something about harmonizing, whole notes, staffs and rest dots.

The weekly attendance is 12 and growing. The repertoire includes traditional favorites; folk, spiritual and eventually a little bit of rock 'n' roll in the mix.

Feel free to bring a friend and suggestions for songs to add to the growing list of requests.

Also, if you're more the playing-type versus vocal-type, bring your instrument and they'll make that work, too! The more the merrier.

Hope Community Chorus rehearsals begin at 11 a.m. Join anytime, no registration or sign-up required.

You don't have to reside in Townsend -- just show up.

The Meeting Hall is located between the Senior Center and Library on Dudley Road.
