PEPPERELL -- The field is set for the April 28 town election, pending final certification of all candidates by the Board of Registrars.
The most contested race is for Town Clerk, from which current Town Clerk Jeffrey Sauer will be resigning after the election. Sauer is moving to New York with his family.
Debra Durno, Lisa Ferolito, Jennifer Hardy and Anna MacDonald will all be on the ballot for Town Clerk.
Board of Selectmen Chairman Stephen Themelis is running unopposed for reelection.
Incumbent Treasurer and Tax Collector Debbie Nutter is being challenged by Laura Angle, pending certification of Angle's nomination papers.
Many positions have an incumbent as the only candidate. Susan Smith is running for Board of Assessors, John Dee is running for the Board of Public Works and Phil Durno is running for the Board of Health, all unopposed for 3-year-terms.
Town Moderator Scott Blackburn is also running as an unopposed incumbent for a 3-year term.
Alise Herrera is running for reelection to the Recreation Commission, also for a 3-year term.
No one is on the ballot for Planning Board, which has an opening for a 5-year term. Current member Richard McHugh is not seeking reelection. The vacancy could still be filled by a write-in candidate, Town Clerk Jeffrey Sauer said.
Three positions are open on the Lawrence Library Board of Trustees, including two 3-year positions and one 1-year position. Fred Kobs is running for reelection for a three-year term, Bob Kowalski is also running for a 3-year term and Carol Case is running for a 1-year term.
Three at-large positions are open on the North Middlesex Regional School Committee, all for 3-year terms. Incumbent Michael Morgan is the only candidate on the ballot in Pepperell.
