St. Patrick's Day supper March 15

The Townsend United Methodist Church will hold a St. Patrick's Day Supper Saturday, March 15. The menu will feature authentic Irish recipes of baked stuffed chicken breast with red pepper cream sauce, Dublin Coddle with sausage, sweet and sour red cabbage, red potatoes, peas, hot rolls and other Irish breads and delicious desserts.

Serving from 4-6 p.m., dinner is "eat-in or take-out." The price for adults is $10, seniors $9, children $5, and under 6 years, free.

The Meetinghouse Church on the Hill is located at 265 Main St. in Townsend Center at the junction of Routes 13 and 119. Call 978-597-2486 for more information.

Townsend Rod & Gun Club Annual Game Dinner March 15

The Townsend Rod & Gun Club is hosting its Annual Game Dinner, Saturday, March 15, at 5 p.m.

Chairman Mary Letourneau says this year's event will be one of the best, and tickets are available by calling her at 978-597-5868. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children under 12. Tickets will be available at the door.

The buffet menu includes appetizers, salads, soups, breads, a wide variety of game dishes, and desserts. There will be more traditional fare for the less adventurous! The dinner is open to the public, and all are welcome. A door prize and raffle will be held. The event is BYOB and adults are encouraged to drink responsibly.

The Game Dinner will be held at Townsend Rod & Gun Club, located at 46 Emery Road, Townsend, off Route 13 (about 1.5 miles south of Townsend center.)

Emerald City Tea and Treats Party March 16

Townsend Recreation and the Townsend Library cordially invited you to their Emerald City Tea and Treats Party Sunday, March 16, from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Townsend Library.

Enjoy tasty tea and treats, mingle with characters of Emerald City and take part in photo opportunities. A live story narrative will be performed.

Adults $8; children: $5; under 3, free.

Well adult clinic in Ashby March 20

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ashby Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public on Thursday, March 20, from noon to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 361 New Ipswich Road. March is Blood Sugar Month. Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening and diet teaching. No appointment necessary. Roast pork dinner at TCC March 29

Townsend Congregational Church invites you to enjoy a Roast Pork Dinner with sauerkraut, homemade applesauce, carrots, mashed potatoes and homemade dessert on Saturday, March 29, from 5-6:30 p.m. Tickets, available at the door, are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 through 8. As always, children under 3 eat free! Dinners are also available for take-out.

La Fraternite Francaise

If you can communicate in French and would like to practice your speaking skill, join us for some informal discussions on a variety of topics, hosted by Jan Wesson.

Animal Adventures at Earth Day on the Townsend Common April 26

Earth Day will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain date: Sunday, April 27, noon-4 p.m. on the Town Common.

Music, crafts, animals, environmental organizations, food and fun! This year's theme, "Jump and Slither" with frogs, snakes and turtles.

Animal Adventures will be presenting its interactive animal talk from 1-2 p.m.

The textile competition, between all of the school district towns (Ashby, Pepperell and Townsend), will be held in the rear parking lot. We are expecting 45 vendors, 15 nonprofit groups and we have an amazing line up of talent, both on the bandstand and on the green!

Vendors are still wanted: $25 per 12-foot-by-12-foot spot. No fee for nonprofit groups. Check should be made out to Town of Townsend and mailed to Karen Clement, 101 Main St., Townsend, MA 01469 by March 22. You bring your own tables, chairs and easy up.
