Open Mic Night at Lawrence Library Friday, March 7, 7-10 p.m.

The first Friday of every month is Open Mic Night in the Lawrence Library Art Gallery. Join DJ Tyler for a fun evening of music and community. Musicians, singers, poets --come play, sing or just listen! All ages/all instruments welcome.

Irish Music with Tom O'Carroll Wednesday, March 12, 7-8 p.m.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day a little early at a special Wednesday night concert in the beautiful Lawrence Library Art Gallery.

Dublin born folklorist, folk-singer and instrumentalist Tom O'Carroll brings a wealth of stories, humor, wit and history to his performances. He has played at concerts, festivals, colleges, libraries and pubs all over the U.S. and Canada, as well as his native Ireland, including a stint for one month in Seoul, South Korea.

Whether playing a plaintive air on the tin whistle, or singing and playing rousing traditional songs to the accompaniment of the guitar or the bodhrán (Irish drum), Tom will captivate all with his lively program of Irish culture.

Learn to create a low maintenance garden March 12

Learn to create a low maintenance garden on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at the Pepperell Senior Center. Design-less Gardening: A Naturalistic Approach, will be presented by the Pepperell Garden Club. Adults, $5, $2 for seniors, free for members. For info: Call Kathy at 978-433-8031.

DAR to host talk on Fort Devens history March 18

The Pepperell Historical Society and the Prudence Wright Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are sponsoring a presentation of Fort Devens history (established as Camp Devens in 1917). The date is Tuesday, March 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Pepperell Senior Center, 37 Nashua Road (Route 111) Pepperell.

Our special guests include Fort Devens Commander LTC Steven F. Egan and Kara Fossey, executive director, Fort Devens Museum.

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Pepperell Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center on Senior Center Road (off 37 Nashua Road Route 111). Library book sale March 21-23

The Friends of Lawrence Library Annual Book Sale will be held March 21-23 at the Pepperell Community Center. The hours will be Friday, March 21, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Book prices are: $2 for adult and young adult hard cover, $1 for youth (under 13) hard cover, $0.50 for paper backs, $0.50 for children's and young adult, and $1 for multimedia. On Sunday, $10 to fill a paper grocery bag.

Pepperell Community Center is located on the Route 111/113 Rotary in Pepperell. 

NMS band program announces evening dance show March 22

The Nissitissit Middle School's band program has organized an evening dance show on Saturday, March 22, at the school, open to the public. Show time is 7-8 p.m.

This is a 50-50 fundraiser for the Pepperell Parents Pro Musica, the NMS Band parent group, and jaredsfight.org, an organization to raise funds for Sanfilippo Syndrome research.

Area dance group Phunk Phenomenon will perform. Come enjoy an evening of HipHop as Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Crews perform. Tickets $10 advance purchase; $12 at the door.

Free vision screening March 24

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Pepperell Board of Health and D'Ambrosio's Eye Care Team, will offer FREE vision screening, including glaucoma screening and personal consultation with an ophthalmologist, on Monday, March 24, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Senior Center on Senior Center Road (off 37 Nashua Road Route 111). ATM May 5; articles due March 13

The Board of Selectmen has announced the date for the Annual Town Meeting is Monday, May 5 (and Tuesday, May 6, if needed), at 7:30 p.m. in Nissitissit Middle School.

Articles are due to the Board of Selectmen no later than 2 p.m. on March 13.
