Why do you come to the library? I come to the library because I like to read books.
What do you geek? I geek my family.
The Lawrence Library geeks family, too! We have lots of programs that kids can attend with their parents, including storytimes on Friday mornings for babies, and on Wednesday mornings for older kids. Working parents may prefer to come to our monthly Pajama Story Times, which are held on the second Wednesday night of each month.
Families are also always welcome to join us for our many programs, including our Valentine's Day Crafts on Feb. 8, or the birthday party we are throwing for Frosty the Snowman on Feb. 1.
Parents who are looking to get more involved in the library should consider joining the Friends of the Lawrence Library, which has meetings on the second Thursday of every month at 10 a.m., with free babysitting. The Friends supports the library by sponsoring events, performers and the purchase of materials and is always looking for new members.
While kids are playing in the children's room, parents are invited to look at our section of parenting books, which are now located near the play area. We also have magazines for the entire family and movies that whole families can enjoy together.
The library can help everyone explore the things they geek. For information, or if you are interested in being the Geek of the Week, stop by Lawrence Library.
