Groton elected offices
Nomination papers for Groton's elected offices are available as of Feb. 3. If you've thought about applying your skills or pursuing an interest serving in an elected capacity, now is the time. Almost all offices have expiring terms. A complete list of openings is available at townofgroton.org.
The nomination process is simple. Nomination papers can be obtained from the town clerk's office. Please contact the town clerk at 978-448-1100 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about running for election.
Town Census and Dog Registrations
The annual town census was mailed to all households during the first week of January. Please look for this and return to the town clerk's office by the end of January. Returning the census keeps your voter status active and helps the town with statistical information as required by statute.
Annual dog registrations are due no later than Feb. 28. The dog registration fee is $10 per spayed or neutered dog, $15 for an unaltered dog. The late fee, effective March 1, is $10 per dog. Dogs can be registered at the town clerk's office, 173 Main St.
Dogs may be registered in person, by mail or online. Check out townofgroton.org. Look for the town clerk's department and select Dog Registration. The town clerk may also be reached at 978-448-1100.
