ShirleyArts! holds auditions for its winter youth production for students in grades three and up. The title of the play is "The (Almost) Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel" by Steph DeFerie.

Auditions for special parts will be Sunday, Jan. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Ayer-Shirley Middle School.

At the auditions, students will be asked to read parts of the script with good expression and volume. Anyone who is interested and willing to work, can be in the show.

Besides Hansel and Gretel, the parts include two fairy godmothers, Brunhilde and the Magic Mirror, Jack and his cow, three pigs, three bears, Red Riding Hood, a wolf, a woodcutter, a rotten stepmother, Prince Charming, Snow White and two British policemen.

Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, and continue every Tuesday and Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Performances will be Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m..

Tuition is $90 with scholarship help available.
