Dr. Leslie Neville, local Harvard resident and veterinarian at the Shepherd Veterinary Clinic, will be the featured speaker at the Jan. 6 meeting of the Harvard Woman's Club.
In 1999, Neville began an internship at the New England Aquarium rewarming and reviving turtles that were stranded and had become cold on Cape Cod beaches. Those turtles that were successfully rehabilitated were then returned to their natural habitat. In 2012, an exceptionally large number of turtles were stranded on Massachusetts beaches. Why were these turtles stranded? Neville will share with us her experiences as well as show pictures related to this important work.
Bromfield scholarship recipients for the 2013-2014 school year will be guests of the Club and will speak about their first semester college experiences.
Luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. followed by the program at 12:15 p.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 15 Still River Road. All are welcome. For membership information, contact Karen Dolimount at 978-456-3401.
