TOWNSEND -- Townsend will soon be home to a new multi-specialty dental practice.

Dr. Nick Perrotta, Dr. Eileen Brusseau and Dr. Eric Gheewalla have partnered to open a practice at 370 Main St. next month.

The new office will feature five treatment rooms and will employ a periodontist, an endodontist, a pediatric dentist, three general dentists, two assistants, three hygienists and a receptionist.

Eventually, Perrotta and Brusseau plan to hire an orthodontist as well.

"People like to have all their work done in the same place for convenience," Perrotta said.

"Here people can get the same quality of treatment that they'd get in Boston, but they don't have to travel."

Perrotta said the decision to open the practice in Townsend was a combination of a need for a comprehensive dental practice in the area and a desire for the doctors, who have known each other for nearly 20 years, to form a partnership.

"The vision we had was having all the specialties under one roof. Most people had to travel far to get to a periodontist or an endodontist. And we grew to love the area and the people here," Perrotta said.

He also added that the location on Main Street and the building's large parking lot added to the desirability of the location.

"I always wanted to own my own practice, and we were excited about this concept of having all of the specialists under one roof," Brusseau said.

The office will be entirely digital and paperless, Perrotta said.

"Digital is the state of the art. And we know paperless is in the future, so we said, it's a new practice, let's go paperless from the beginning," Perrotta said.

All of the hiring for the practice has been completed. Construction on the office, which was formerly a hair salon, began in April. The practice is scheduled to open on Aug. 1.
