Individuals who want to learn about volunteer opportunities in their community can find more than 100 different opportunities through United Way of North Central Massachusetts' Volunteer Center, Community Builders. This week's featured opportunity is a call for nature artists.

The Midstate Trail Art Project is seeking proposals to make nature-based trail art to be installed on sections of the Midstate Trail in central Massachusetts. Proposals are sought for artwork that is made up of primarily natural materials that are found in the woods and fields of Massachusetts, such as branches, moss, vegetation, etc. Manmade materials may also be used to construct the project, such as twine, screws, wire, braces, etc. If your proposal is accepted, you will receive a stipend of $200 toward your supplies and a site on the trail will be designated for your artwork to be displayed.
