Individuals who want to learn about volunteer opportunities in their community can find more than 100 different opportunities through United Way of North Central Massachusetts' Volunteer Center, Community Builders.
This week we are seeking volunteers who can commit to two to four hours a month as a companion for adults who have a mental-health diagnosis. We will match you with a member with similar hobbies and interests. Doing things in the community like movies, fishing, art shows, flea markets, or even just going for coffee are some suggestions. Volunteers pay for their portion of activities, while members are responsible for paying their own share. All volunteers must be 18 or older and must pass a CORI records check prior to service.
