The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in cooperation with local veterinarians, will provide rabies immunization for dogs and cats. All dogs and cats over six months of age, not previously immunized, and those with an orange oval (2010) rabies tag, must be immunized. The vaccine provided at Nashoba Clinics is effective for three years for dogs and cats over one year of age and currently immunized. Dogs and cats between the ages of 6 and 12 months and those who have let their immunization lapse must receive a booster within one year of the initial inoculation. They are then protected for three years.
Cats must be brought in cages or closed boxes during the last half of any clinic. The tag for 2013 will be a blue rosette. The charge per immunization is $15 (unless otherwise noted). Residents of Nashoba member towns may attend any of the following clinics. All pet owners must present, to participating veterinarian, proof of current vaccination to receive a three year rabies vaccination. Failure to do so will result in your pet receiving a one year vaccination. The schedule is:
Ayer: March 9, 9-10 a.m., at the Ayer Animal Hospital, 196 W. Main St.
Harvard: March 23, 9-10 a.m. at the Harvard
Pepperell: April 6, 9 a.m.-noon at the Jersey Street Fire Station

Stratton presents Avenue Q
The Stratton Players will present the raucous American musical Avenue Q at the Stratos G. Dukakis Center for the Performing Arts, 1050 Westminster Street in Fitchburg. The performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16 and on the 22nd and 23rd at 8 p.m.. In addition, a 2 p.m. matinee will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24.
Avenue Q, which can be described as Sesame Street meets South Park, is a laugh out loud comedy that is part feeling, part fleshy, and full of heart. It is a-coming-of-age parable in which the characters lament that their childhoods were filled with positive parental assurances, but as adults, their options became limited.
The show features the clever use of large-size puppets (hence the Sesame Street connection) alongside human actors. The entire cast is rife with adult feelings and urges that are not exactly appropriate for ten-year-olds.
All tickets are $25. Tickets may be purchased online at our website, www.strattonplayers.com or by mailing a check to Stratton Players,, PO Box 2122, Fitchburg MA 01420. Please include the dates you prefer as well as your telephone number. Reservations are confirmed when you are contacted by Stratton Players. You can also purchase tickets at the door; however, seating is limited and cannot be guaranteed. For questions, call 978-345-6066 and leave a message; your call will be returned.
