FITCHBURG -- Applewild School announces AppleCore Scholarships available to entering fifth- and sixth-graders for this fall. The scholarship program is aimed at admitting students of exceptional academic ability who also demonstrate strong character and good citizenship, reflective of the core values of the school.
Current Applewild students come from 30 towns in Worcester and Middlesex Counties and in New Hampshire. Bus transportation is available.
Candidates for the scholarships should submit a general application of admission, an AppleCore application form and all of the supporting materials. All application materials can be found online at www.applewild.org. AppleCore grants range from $1,000 to half tuition and will be awarded to top applicants. Applicants who require additional financial aid may apply for need-based financial aid. Students who do not qualify for the AppleCore awards will continue to be considered for admission to Applewild.
AppleCore Scholarship applicants will be asked to come for a campus visit, meet with the Scholarship Committee for some activities and have a personal interview. The committee seeks to enroll students who have demonstrated academic achievement, possess a positive attitude toward school, and whose parents seek a well-rounded, rigorous liberal arts education for their child. In addition, the committee looks for candidates who will benefit from Applewild's educational programs
