Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury St. in Holden, will host a ham and bean supper to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project on Friday, Jan. 18, (snow date, Saturday, Jan. 19).
The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
According to WWP, since Sept. 11, 2001, in addition to the physical wounds (more than 50,000), it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.

If you are not able to attend the supper but would like to contribute, please send a check to the same address, with the notation, "Wounded Warriors."
Guests are invited to bring a non-perishable item for the Wachusett Food Pantry.
