Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran together with Trinity Episcopal, Shirley, and St. David's Episcopal, Pepperell, will join together in a service of Lessons and Carols at Groton School Chapel at 10 a.m. Please come and join in this celebration of the Christmas Season.
TUESDAY, JAN. 1
First Day Hike: 10:30 a.m. Meet at Pearl Hill State Park parking lot on New Fitchburg Road in Townsend. We'll hike or snowshoe through Pearl Hill State Park on the Friends Trail and then leave that trail to travel alongside Pearl Hill Brook. Total hiking distance will be about 3.5 miles. Bring water and a snack, and dress for the weather. Please register with Emily Norton at 978-597-3553 by 9 PM the day before the hike if you plan to participate.
SATURDAY, JAN. 12
The Science of Ice and Snow: The Nashua River Watershed Association will be kicking off the new year with science and adventure for children ages 7 to 11 with our first Science Saturday of 2013 from 1-2:30 p.m. Learn about how snow helps insulate the world of small animals. Do experiments with ice and build a snow fort! We'll be engaged in activities indoors and outdoors at the NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main St. (Rt. 119), in Groton. Science Saturday costs $25. Costumes are handed out at the door so all children can participate. This is an informal child friendly service for all ages.

Children's & Teens Sunday Groups:
"The Catechesis of The Good Shepherd" is a hands-on, developmentally sensitive way of introducing children aged 3 through teen to Jesus, the Bible, and the liturgy using the Montessori Method. Three groups meet on Sundays beginning 9:45 a.m. Classes join the adults in worship at the Peace.
