Mark your calendars for the 4th annual Recycle Your Reusables day at Ayer Shirley Middle School, 1 Hospital Road, Shirley, from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Oct. 20.

The event is free and open to all with a donation of non-perishable foods for Loaves & Fishes.

Here's a sampling of items that can be recycled:

* household goods, appliances, furniture

* paper and media for shredding

* bicycles, helmets, supplies

* rigid plastic: kids' toys, lawn furniture, etc

* athletic shoes

* books, CDs, DVDs, video games

* usable construction items, paint, tools, hardware

* textiles: clothing, linen, shoes, leather goods

* wheelchairs, canes, walkers, crutches

* electronics

* wood pellet/bird seed bags, chip bags, granola bar wrappers

* Styrofoam

There will also be a gently used sporting goods sale. Donate used sporting gear and pick up what you need at bargain prices.
