WESTFORD -- Mikaela Berthiaume of Townsend has been named a Student of the Month for June at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Mikaela, daughter of Tracy Berthiaume, will enter her junior year in the fall as president of the Class of 2014, a position she held as a sophomore as well. Mikaela is in the TV & Media Production/Theater Arts program. She was inducted into the National Honor Society this past spring, and is a member of the Student Council, Drama Club, SkillsUSA, and the volleyball and track teams.
As class president, she has organized a number of activities, including Spring Fling, bake sales and a scavenger hunt during Open House, among many others. Mikaela is an honor-roll student. She plans to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after graduation to study biomedical engineering and video editing.
At Nashoba Tech's recent inaugural Arts Awards Night, Mikaela received the TV & Media Production award for Most Valuable Artist. She was nominated by TV & Media Production/Theater Arts instructor Emily Smith.
In her nomination, Smith wrote: "Miky is always willing to go the extra mile for her classes, peers, teachers and the school community. She is wonderful to have in class, and I am excited to see what this young lady will do during her next two years at NVTHS."
