Three to seven inches of snow is expected to fall on the area late Tuesday, with another inch or two possible on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
This week will also bring bitter low temperatures combined with winds that will push wind chills to as low as -16 on Wednesday, the Weather Service said. A high of 18 is expected for Tuesday, and 13 for Wednesday.
Snow that will blanket the area Tuesday night beginning after 9 p.m. will likely stay for a while. Highs are projected to be only in the teens on Thursday and Friday, close to freezing on Saturday, and in the low- to mid-20s on Sunday and Monday.
