TOWNSEND -- An "America's Got Talent" finalist will be heading to Townsend Thursday to perform at North Middlesex Regional High School.

Erik Dittleman made a name for himself as a mind reader on the popular show, advancing to the semifinals of the seventh season by correctly guessing what the show's judges were thinking.

The performance is a fundraiser for the school's boys basketball team, and will help to pay for offseason tournaments, team meals and travel expenses, according to varsity basketball coach Erik Dellasanta.

"We try to pay for some offseason tournaments so the kids don't have to pay to play, so they can have a sense of family and chance to play basketball without paying," Dellasanta said.

The show will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in the North Middlesex auditorium.

Tickets are on sale for $15 ahead of time and $20 at the door.

Those interested in reserving a ticket ahead of time can contact Dellasanta at edellasa@nmrsd.org.
