Open house: Groton Community School will host an Open House for prospective families from 1-3 p.m. Join us to find out more about our school and experience all the wonderful things GCS has to offer young children. Guided Trail Hike: 1 p.m. sharp. Join members of the Groton Trails Committee on a guided hike up Millstone Hill and by Massapoag Pond. The hike will feature wetlands, upland forest, eskers, an old quarry, a physics demonstration, and signs of beaver activity. Our walk will take about two hours. Dogs must be well behaved, and if small children present, dogs must be leashed. Wear suitable hiking shoes or boots, considering whether there will be snow underfoot. The hike will be held unless it is very stormy. Take Route 40 to Cow Pond Brook Road. We will meet to start our hike at the end of Cow Pond Brook Road, past the transfer station. The Jungle Book: A orphaned boy finds refuge deep in the Indian jungle and is raised by the animals who live there. Relive this classic story by Rudyard Kipling and meet Mowgli, the "man cub," along with a zany group of jungle animals and sing along to the familiar songs that we all grew up with. Performed by the Florence Roche Elementary third- and fourth-graders through the GDCE on March 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School Performing Arts Center. GROTON -- Nomination papers for Groton's elected offices are available.

If you've thought about serving in an elected capacity, now is the time. Almost all offices have expiring terms. A complete list of openings is available at www.townofgroton.org.

The nomination process is simple. Nomination papers can be obtained from the town clerk's office. Contact the town clerk at 978-448-1100 or townclerk@townofgroton.org if you have questions about running for election.

St. Patrick's Day trip planned

"Women of Ireland," is a special St. Patrick's Day Show presented by the Friends of Groton Elders on Friday, March 15. Please join us in the spirit of Riverdance and Celtic Woman and comprising the best performers within the Irish musical tradition, as we travel to the Venus De Milo in Swansea, Ma to enjoy a wonderful blend of song, music and dance.

This world renowned performance showcases a wonderful blend of song, music and dancing that is the hallmark of the greatest Irish shows of our time. Our show features both male and female dancers and singers from the magnificent show Riverdance and embodies the spirit of the hit show Celtic Woman. Women of Ireland is a spectacle to be seen live on stage.

Meal choices of corned beef and cabbage or baked haddock and include Venus De Milo's Famous minestrone soup, vegetables, breads, dessert, coffee/tea.

Price of $81 includes transportation, luncheon, show and driver's gratuity.
