Holiday: Town offices closed.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service: NMRHS students will hold a day on, rather than a day off. Join us for a hands-on day of service activities, crafts for a cause, book and food drive, and community projects. Two sessions: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., North Middlesex Regional High School.

TUESDAY, JAN. 22

New program for caregivers: 1 p.m. If you are caring for someone, this is a time for you to get together with those who share the same situations and concerns. Different topics will be discussed each month under the guidance of Mary Ann Melanson. January's topic will be "How to Beat the Holiday Blues." Refreshments will be served. There is no charge nor need to sign up. Just drop in when you can. This social will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Dog licenses for 2013 are now available in the Town Clerk's office. License your dog before March 1, 2013, to avoid the late fees.

Russian Music at Townsend Library

Join Barbara Suhrstedt and Tanya Sheppard for a culturally rich program that will feature slides, poetry and music. The program will feature slides of Russian art from the 19th and early 20th centuries; the poetry of Pushkin,

Nekrasov, Lermontov and Anna Akhmatova; and the piano music of Liadov, Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Tchaikovsky. Barbara Suhrstedt has had a life-long interest in Russian music and culture and has visited Russia 13 times since 1998. Tanya Sheppard has traveled extensively throughout the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe as a tour guide for 28 years. She has a deep and personal understanding of Russian culture and has given many talks on the subject. Sponsored by the TPL Endowment
