SHIRLEY -- The Council on Aging is seeking a couple of drivers to deliver meals to seniors on Fridays, beginning as soon as possible. The council is also looking for back-up drivers who might help when one of the normal drivers is ill or has a scheduling conflict.
The drivers meet the delivery truck at the Senior Center at about 11 a.m. and, using a route slip provided by the COA, deliver meals to about 10-12 seniors around town. It usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half. This is a volunteer position but the council does pay a minimal mileage reimbursement. The main reward is internal: the satisfaction of helping others.
If you are willing and able (car, license and able to get in and out of the car frequently), please call at 978-425-1390.
