Next Tuesday, right before Thanksgiving, is the 4th annual pie sale to aid some of Shirley's needy.

The proceeds from this event have been somewhat of a moveable feast -- going to the new Senior Center the first year and to the Friendship Fund the following two years.

This year the funds will go to the Community Assistance Collaboration (CAC), a group formed by Ann Towne, Frank Esielionis and me to underwrite the costs of food delivery to shut-in elderly people, veterans and handicapped people in Shirley and to provide bridge funding for townspeople to help out with utilities, etc. We have worked closely with the Shirley Charitable Foundation, Loaves & Fishes, the Friendship Fund and the senior outreach coordinator .

Our wish list is that you donate TWO homemade pies -- or one if that's all you can do. Please drop them off on Tuesday morning, Nov 20, at St Anthony's Parish Hall from 8 a.m. on through the morning.

If you can't support us by baking, PLEASE PURCHASE A PIE OR TWO and make your Thanksgiving preparations easier (leaves time for a glass of wine!!!).
