HARVARD - An automated call was made to Harvard households at 12:45 p.m. this afternoon, advising that Harvard will not have it's scheduled trick-or-treat hours this evening. Harvard Fire Chief Richard Sicard narrated the message and cited lingering safety concerns for the last-minute call.

The text of his message was also sent via email push. It is as follows:

Hi this is Chief Sicard from the Harvard Fire Department with a Connect-CTY message.

Due to the total number of household that are still without power, the number of power lines that are on the ground, and the number of power and tree crews working around town, we feel it is in the best interest of public safety to postpone trick-or-treating for tonight.
