As the fall begins, so does a new round of activities at the Pepperell Senior Center.
The Grandparents Tea on Sept. 9 begins at 2 p.m.
Also, a four-week belly dancing workshop begins on Sept. 10 at noon. Not only is it a fun way to shake things up and get exercise, it's also designed to improve posture and balance.
"Belly dancing is something we've been doing with a lot of success," said Bethany Loveless, activity coordinator at the center.
The workshop costs $8 to $10 for the series, and $3 to $4 per class. The lower rates are for seniors, but all adults are welcome. The class, which had been held in the evenings, was moved to the new earlier time to accommodate the changing seasons.
"With it getting darker earlier, we decided to move the night class to a day class," said Loveless.
The center is also offering a mixed media zentangles workshop, an art class, which begins on Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for the series.
"They take an outline of an object or a picture ... and rather than filling it in with colors, they fill them in with black and white patterns. They can then add paint or watercolor," said Loveless.
