The Groton Interfaith Council will present "Ramadan, Breaking the Fast," Sunday, July 29, at 8:10 p.m., in the First Parish Church, 1 Powder House Road, Groton.
All are welcome to this free event. Please bring food to share.
Ramadaan is a month of fasting from sunrise to sunset for Muslims around the world. It is a period of giving, compassion and reflection.
Shua Arshad will explain the meaning and practices of Ramadaan while we enjoy traditional snacks. Afterwards we will share a POT LUCK feast where fruits and vegetables are commonly served. If you bring a dish with meat, there must be no pork. Beef or chicken should be kosher. Kosher meat conforms to the same dietary rules as Muslim Halal. Trader Joes usually has kosher chicken.
