A design to rebuild and rehabilitate the Ayer-Shirley Regional High School is currently being developed for submission to the state.

You are invited to join the Ayer-Shirley Regional Building Committee and the Sustainable Design Working Group for an "Eco-Charette."

An eco-charette is an intensive workshop where the project stakeholders, community members and experts convene to brainstorm on sustainable design goals and objectives for the project.

Eco-charettes are an integrated (and required) part of the design process, allowing the whole community, in collaboration with the design team, to participate in discussing ideas early in the design process, and to affect the features that will be presented to the state for "LEED" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

If we qualify for LEED level, Massachusetts School Building Assistance (MSBA) gives our communities an additional reimbursement of up to 2 percent. This could mean a saving of up to $1M.
