PEPPERELL -- Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Cumberland Farms store on Main Street early Thursday morning.

Between 3:30 and 4 a.m., a man wearing dark clothing, a ski mask and gloves brandished a knife and demanded money from the store's only working employee, according to Police Chief David Scott.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and then ripped change chutes off of both of the store's cash registers.

A dark colored Toyota sedan was reportedly seen leaving the area.

The robbery is being actively investigated by the Pepperell Police Department.
