SHIRLEY - The annual gigantic recycling day is fast approaching, Saturday, October 20, 9am-2:30pm at Ayer Shirley Middle School. The event is free and open to all with a donation of non-perishable food for Loaves and Fishes.
Among the unique things we'll be recycling this year are tennis balls, chip bags, granola bar wrappers, Styrofoam, wood pellet/bird seed bags, wheelchairs, stuffed animals and bulky plastics.
But that's not all! We'll also take textiles (useable or not, as long as they are clean and dry), household goods, appliances, electronics, bicycles, books, construction materials, returnable bottles and cans, and paper and disks for shredding.
But that's not still not all! We'll also recycle hearing aids, athletic shoes, LIVESTRONG bracelets, hard plastic cases from DVDs/CDs/cassettes, backpacks, belts, curtains, sporting goods and panty hose. The complete list of materials we will recycle is at http://recycleyourreusables.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/complete-list-of-items-wanted/.
If you would like to volunteer but only have a few minutes to spare on 10/20 OR If you would like to volunteer ahead of time because you're not available on Saturday AND you have a truck let me know.
For more information, or to volunteer, contact www.recycleyourreusables.wordpress.com, ayerrecycles@gmail.com or 978 496 5839.
