Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down three cents from last week, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA's January 13th survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.44 per gallon, down three cents from last week. Prices locally are a penny higher than a month ago. The current price is 13 cents higher than the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.31. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was one cent lower at $3.43.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 31 cents, from a low of $3.29 to a high of $3.60. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up ? every trip-every time.

$3.659 ($3.419-$3.859) Midgrade Unleaded
