LEOMINSTER -- An Ayer woman who was warned by police not to drive with a suspended license waited for officers to leave before driving away Thursday, according to Leominster District Court records.
Sgt. Andrew Dupuis spotted the woman driving on Nichols Street shortly afterward, but she refused to stop when he turned on the blue emergency lights, a court document said.
Laura Johnson, 33, of 96 East Main St., Unit 5, in Ayer, which is the Casa Manor motel, turned on to Route 12 and drove into Fitchburg.
Dupuis wrote: "I observed the operator look back a couple of more times but (she) would not stop for my emergency lights or siren."
Johnson turned into a Salvation Army parking lot, where she was arrested. She pleaded guilty in court Monday and was sentenced to serve one day in the House of Correction with one day credit for time served.
