4th of July celebration: Parade will start at 3 p.m. from West Main to Pirone Park, where giant inflatables and children's activities will be held at 4 p.m.; DownCity Band, a nine-piece Rhode Island horn band, will perform at 5:30 p.m.; Nashoba Valley Concert Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow. Rain date is Sunday, July 7.

Well adult clinics

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ayer Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public:

Friday, July 5, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Carlin's Restaurant, 48 Main St., Ayer. No appointment is necessary. Drop in for blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse screening and diet teaching.

Friday, July 5, 12, 19 and 26, at the Town Nurses office, 51 Cambridge St., Ayer, by appointment only.

Historical Society meets

Ayer Historical Society meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 1 Main St. The Historical Society is in the foundation process and welcomes new visitors, members and fresh ideas. Please join us in preserving Ayer history and fundraising for the society.
