2013 dog licenses now available; due before April 1

All dogs 6 months and older are required to be licensed every calendar year. To purchase a 2013 Ayer dog license, the following is needed: a completed dog license application form, proof of a current rabies certificate, proof of dog being neutered or spayed, if applicable, and payment of the applicable fee.

A $10 late payment fee applies to the issuance of a 2013 Ayer dog license after March 31.

Dog licenses may be purchased at Ayer Town Hall, town clerk office, 1 Main St., Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fiscal 2013 real estate and personal property tax bill payment due dates

The following fiscal 2013 real estate and personal property tax bills are due:

* Third quarter real estate and personal property tax bill due on Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.

* Fourth quarter real estate and personal property tax bill due on May 1 at 5 p.m.

An Ayer real estate or personal property tax payment can be returned with its return envelope via the mail or hand delivered to Ayer Town Hall, tax collector office, 1 Main St., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2013 election schedule with last day to register to vote

The following election is scheduled for this year in the town of Ayer:

Ayer annual town election: Monday, April 22

Last day to register to vote: Tuesday, April 2

The election occurs at Ayer Town Hall, Great Hall, 1 Main St. on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All last day to register to vote registrations occur at Ayer Town Hall, town clerk office, 1 Main St.

2013 Ayer Town Meeting schedule with last day to register to vote

The following two Town Meetings are scheduled for this year in the town of Ayer:

Annual Town Meeting: Monday, May 13

Last day to register to vote: Tuesday, April 2

Annual fall Town Meeting: Monday, Oct. 28

Last day to register to vote: Friday, Oct. 18

Town Meetings occur at Ayer-Shirley Middle/Senior High School Laura S. Leavitt Auditorium, 141 Washington St. at 7 p.m.

All last day to register to vote registrations occur at Ayer Town Hall, town clerk office, 1 Main St. on the scheduled date from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nomination papers for Monday, April 22, Ayer annual town election

Nomination papers for the Monday, April 22, Ayer annual town election are now available. The last day to request nomination papers is Friday, March 1, at 5 p.m. The last day to submit nomination papers is Monday, March 4, at 5 p.m.

Board of Health: one-year term

Commissioner of Trust Funds: three-year term
