AYER -- A reported sewage spill from a town truck on Thursday was verified Friday morning by Department of Public Works Superintendent Mark Wetzel.
According to Wetzel, a town truck picked up a load of dewatered sewage from the wastewater treatment plant off Brooks Street. As it proceeded toward Carlton Rotary on its way to a plant in Marlboro, a portion of the material leaked onto the roadway.
Wetzel said the amount that leaked was "nominal," and that a DPW crew was called out to clean it up.
