Holly Fair: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., The Federated Church of Ayer, 21 Washington St. The Fair features a home cooked lunch of turkey or ham & all the fixings. Santa will be visiting & taking pictures with kids of all ages 10am-12. There will be a 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction items of theme baskets & gift certificates, a handmade quilt raffle, pies & candy to buy, craft and toys for kids.

Sunday breakfast: The Ayer Sportsman's Club resumes its Sunday Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., until Mother's Day. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, French toast, omelets, sausage, bacon and ham, and free coffee and juice. Full breakfast $7. Orders-to-go also available. Proceeds benefit the children's fund. Ayer Fire Department 8th annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race: 8 a.m., rain, show or shine. Registration starts at 6:45 a.m. at Ayer Fire Station, 1 West Main Street. Entry fee $20 by Nov. 18 and $25 thereafter. Age groups: 10 and under; 11-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-9; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-plus. (10 and under must run with an adult 18 or older). IMPORTANT UPCOMING EVENT
A Special Election will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Town Hall. The last day to register to vote in this election was Saturday, Oct. 27. The Town Clerk's office will be open between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. for registration.
Household hazardous waste collection
Ayer residents may bring hazardous materials for disposal to the Devens Regional Household Hazardous Products Collection Center at 9 Cook St. (rear) on the first Wednesday and following Saturday of each month (Dec. 5 and 8), from 9 a.m. to noon, except for holidays and weather-permitting.
The cost for residents is $20 for up to five gallons or five pounds of material.
Businesses must pre-register.
