AYER - Ayer is prepared for the storm according to Ayer Town Administrator Robert Pontbriand. Pontbriand informed Nashoba Publishing at 9 a.m. on Monday that Ayer's police and fire chief, DPW superintendent, and selectmen met at 7 a.m. at the fire station regarding storm preparations.

"All public safety divisions are fully staffed and prepared," said Pontbriand. "Due to the declared State of Emergency, the Ayer Town Hall is closed today and all evening meetings are cancelled there."

The Ayer Shirley School District closed for Monday. The Ayer Senior Center is also closed Monday.

Pontbriand advised that, in the event of an emergency, residents should call 911.

"In the event of power outages and potential storm damage, I will consult with the Fire Chief later today if a shelter is needed," said Pontbriand.
