Central Fire Station Open House: 10 to 11 a.m., 14 Washington St. The Central Fire Station Reuse Committee invites the citizens of Ayer to attend an open house to view the Central Fire Station, learn about the upcoming warrant article and ask any questions about the future of the structure.
Homecoming Fall Festival: ASRHS, noon to 3:30 p.m. (rain or shine). Food, carnival games, prizes!
Drive One 4 UR School: ASRHS parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (rain or shine), sponsored by Gervais Ford. Look at a new car and Ford will donate $20 to the school.
SUNDAY, OCT. 14
Sunday breakfast: The Ayer Sportsman's Club resumes its Sunday Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., until Mother's Day. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, French toast, omelets, sausage, bacon and ham, and free coffee and juice. Full breakfast $7. Orders-to-go also available. Proceeds benefit the children's fund. Youth archery clinic: Two sessions: 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ayer Gun & Sportsmen's Club, 255 Snake Hill Road, Ayer. Free to all youth ages 9 to 16. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. All equipment needed for the day will be provided. Space is limited to 15 archers per session so call Barry at 978-204-8277 or the cub at 978-772-9748 to reserve your space.

Ayer Historical Commission: 7 p.m., Town Hall. Meeting for anyone interested in forming an historical society in Ayer, concluding with a presentation by commission member Barry Schwarzel, who authored the recently published Images of America book on the history of Ayer.
