Infant Storytime ~ Mother Goose on the Loose (no sign-up) - Ages 0 - 2 and up: Mondays & Thursdays at 10:30
Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy program that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for reading. It incorporates music, movement, ritual, repetition, positive reinforcement, developmental tips, nursery rhymes, illustrations, puppets, musical instruments, colored scarves, and book reading into a fun-filled 45 minute session for infants to 2-year-olds and caregivers (older siblings also welcome). Ask to be put on the email list for last minute schedule changes.
Art & Stories for 4's & 5's (pre-registration required) - Ages 4 & 5+: Tuesdays at 2:00
This 30 to 45 minute program, appropriate for children ages 4 to 7, begins with a few longer picturebook stories, then ends with a process art project that encourages preschoolers to explore art materials in an open-ended, creative manner. Some weeks we'll also have storytelling with the library's puppets or feltboard stories - stories told with felt pieces! Register now for the current session which runs through 10/29. Registration for the next 6 week session begins on 10/22; that 6 week session begins on 11/5 and runs through 12/17. Pre-registration required: Limit of 12 children.
Saturday Storytimes (no sign-up required) - Ages 4 to 7: Saturday, October 19 at 10:30
Teen volunteers lead these fun drop-in, half-hour Saturday Storytimes for children ages 3 to 7 and their caregivers. October's theme is Teddy Bears and Toys.
Lego Club - Ages 5 & up: Wednesday, October 23 from 3:20 to 4:30 PM
Saturday, October 26 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM
Come have fun building Lego creations with other Harvard Lego fans! Parents are encouraged to join in the fun & assist with supervision. Wednesday sessions will be supervised by a teen volunteer. Please see the Children's Librarian for more information and to pre-register.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover - All Ages: Friday, October 18 (see below for drop off and pick up times)
Would your stuffed animal like to have an adventure at the library with stuffed animals that belong to other Harvard kids? Choose one of your stuffed animals (preferably one you can spare for a night or two!) to drop off at the library, and once the library is closed on Friday the 18th, the stuffed animals will get to party together and explore the library. Photos of the stuffed animals having fun at the library will be posted on the Children's Room Facebook and Google+ pages on Saturday the 19th!
Drop off your stuffed animals starting on Thursday, October 17; pick up your stuffed friends on Saturday, October 19. Please pre-register so that we can keep track of everyone's cuddly friends!
Steve Blunt ~ Music & Movement for Young Children - All Ages: Tuesday, October 29 at 10:30 AM
Steve Blunt is a part-time music teacher, part-time singer/storyteller whose job is more full-time fun than most grown-ups are allowed to have. He has released four CDs of (mostly) funny songs for kids and families, including There's a Vampire at My Door - Silly, Spooky Musical Fun and the Parents' Choice approved Outta School! and Hang On, Henry! This will be a family program for patrons of all ages, featuring mostly humorous original compositions and traditional American & multicultural selections and some silly, spooky tunes for Halloween! Please pre-register.

Pom-Pom Monster Salon - Ages 7 and up: Wednesday, October 30 at 1:30 PM
Come turn pom-poms into stylish monsters! Starting with yarn and pom-pom makers, we will make pom-poms and then cut and style them to create perfectly coifed mop tops, afros, pigtails, and mohawks. Then we'll add tiny hair bows, punch-out feet, and foam horns and teeth for the final touches. Please pre-register - limited to 12.
Family Movie Night! Movie is Rated PG - All Ages: Friday, November 1 at 6:30 PM
We can't tell you the title of the movie here, but here are some clues about this recent animated film: before these two monsters worked together at a scream factory, they went to college together. Popcorn and water will be served. Please pre-register, so we know how much popcorn to buy!
