Author and wildlife photographer, Judith Jango-Cohen, will present "Gators, Octopi, and Grizzlies, Oh My!" at the Groton Public Library on Friday, August 2 from 10:30-11:30 am. Made possible by a grant from the Groton Trust Funds Lecture Fund. For children 3 and up.

GROTON -- Now available -- portable DVD players for loan free of charge. Check out DVD players and cases for one week for car rides (the cases attach to the back of car seats for backseat riders), trips (where they can attach to any TV to show a movie), or simply for watching a movie (or listening to a CD -- regular or MP3 -- the players do that, too) in the library.

FACES is an exhibit of portraits executed by artists of many different media and styles. This show seeks to showcase the portraits that artists have hidden away in their studios. FACES is on exhibit in the Owen Smith Shuman Gallery of the Groton Public Library until Friday, Aug.. 30.

We will offer the Higgins Armory pass through Dec. 31, which is the last chance to visit the exhibits in the famous old building made of steel and glass before it closes! The entire collection will be transferred to and eventually displayed at the Worcester Art Museum, for which GPL also has passes.

Sunday afternoon hours at GPL this fall!

The library will be open to all from 1-5 p.m. every Sunday from Sept. 8 to Dec. 29. This pilot project is funded by State Aid to Libraries. GPL will continue its customary winter Sundays from 1-5 p.m. from Jan. 5 to April 27.
