TOWNSEND -- The July 10 Conservation Commission meeting was canceled after the meeting's agenda was prematurely removed from the bulletin board outside Memorial Hall.
Members of the commission were concerned that the agenda's accidental removal would violate the state's Open Meeting Law, which requires that all meeting notices be posted publicly for 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
All agenda items have now been postponed to the commission's next meeting on Wednesday, July 24, at 7 p.m.
The postponed items included a hearing on a proposed project to fill 1,250 square feet of bordering vegetated wetland for the construction of a new driveway to a new single-family house on Lunenburg Road.
Also for discussion at the next meeting is a hearing on a proposed bank stabilization of Willard Brook on Main Street.
