PEPPERELL -- The Pepperell Recreation Commission's Summer Playground program will again be providing kids with an entertaining way to spend their summer.

The program will run July 8 through Aug. 13 at the Town Field & Community Center, and is for students who have finished kindergarten through eighth grade.

Stacey Drahusz, director of programs and facilities for the Pepperell Recreation Commission, said the program will include a wide variety of activities. Students will be divided into three age groups, and activities will differ for each age group.

Drahusz said the program provides the prospect of a fun summer to children while giving their parents peace of mind.

"It gives kids a social outlet, a place to come and congregate with kids their age and it helps alleviate parents' worries by giving them a trusted place in a central part of town as a safe environment to play," Drahusz said.

The program costs $190 per child for Pepperell residents and $210 for nonresidents if paid by Sunday, June 30. For those registering after that date, the cost increases to $200 per child for residents and $220 per child for nonresidents.

Parents can also purchase a five-day pass for $60, which can be used to attend any five days of the Summer Playground.

The Recreation Commission is also offering a three-day creative dance and art workshop for students entering kindergarten through fourth grade.
