This photo of the Jct. sign features Rich Strazdas, who made our new trail map. His work is much appreciated.

AYER -- On Thursday, June 13, the Conservation Commission supported all the Ayer Greenway Committee proposals: map, brochure and kiosk plan. Thanks to the ConsCom for contributing to our momentum.

And, I am doubly happy to report, that on Saturday, June 15, the Ayer Greenway Committee crew was able to complete the new kiosk at Groton Harvard Road! Plus, we completed the new sign at the Oak Ridge Drive trailhead and the new sign at the Habitat/Pine Meadow/Science trail junction.

Our new map and other material look great at these sites! Hikers will have a much clearer picture of where they are and where they are going from now on.

I attach a photo of the new kiosk and crew that put it together. The crew was made up of Takashi Tada, Rich Strazdas, Steve Smith, Keith Frederick, George Bacon, and Kyle Strazdas (not in photo).

We have more plans and work to do this summer, but let's savor these milestones for a little while!
